Lash Lift FAQs
WHAT IS A LASH LIFT?
It's a lifting technique designed to give you longer-looking lashes without the need for lash extensions. All treatments include a lash tint for your upper lashes, though this may not replace mascara for those clients with petite or fine lashes.
HOW DO I PREPARE FOR A LASH LIFT?
Please come to your appointment with NO EYE MAKEUP ON. For better results, remain mascara-free for 24 hours before your treatment. If you wear contacts, please remove them prior to your lash lift. Although reactions to Elleebana Lash Lifting procedures are extremely rare, please schedule a patch test a minimum of 24 hours before your treatment if you are concerned about allergies/irritation.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF A LASH LIFT?
• Allows for more precise positioning of eyelashes
• Provides length with the comfort of your natural lashes
• Allows for lifting of eyelashes and can reverse old perms
• Superior formulation that conditions and nourishes lashes
• Fast processing formulation, and formaldehyde-free
• Minimal after-care. Swim, shower and play with no fuss.
• Suitable for short or long eyelashes
LASH LIFTS vs EXTENSIONS
Lash lifts and lash extensions are two very different services. I will not be adding any additional lashes to you. I will simply be curling your natural lashes. That said, for most, it can make your lashes appear fuller because they are so uplifted.
WHAT AFTERCARE IS REQUIRED?
Do not get your lashes wet or apply anything to them for 24 hours. This includes cooking over steam, saunas and makeup remover wipes. Be careful not to sleep on your side or face where your lashes would rub against your pillow, as the lashes are still malleable, and any contact with your freshly lifted lashes may reposition them or cause them to fall. Do not rub or play with the lashes. If any irritation occurs, apply a clean cold wet pad to the eye area or contact your doctor. After the initial 24-48 hours, you may go back to your normal routine. It is best to use oil-free makeup removers and hydrating mascaras. Do not use waterproof mascara as this can be too drying on the lashes.
HOW LONG DOES A LASH LIFT LAST?
Generally a lash lift lasts 6-8 weeks, but for some it can last up to 10 weeks. The average lifespan of the natural lash is anywhere from 45-90 days, depending on each individual. On rare occasions, it is not possible to sustain the curl with lashes that have a strong cowlick or slanted growth pattern. Eyelashes are at different stages of the cycle within their life, and as a result, we lose lashes every day.
DO LASH LIFTS DAMAGE LASHES?
If the service is done carefully, the lashes should not show signs of damage since the lifting solution is not being applied all the way to the tips of the lashes. If the lashes are weak and/or damaged before receiving the treatment, it is recommended to wait until your lashes have grown stronger to prevent further damage and over processing. I recommend Revitalash to all of my clients.
IS A LASH LIFT PANIFUL?
The service is not painful, but it does feel a little strange while initially applying the rods. This can be a very relaxing service, so let us know if there’s anything we can do to make your service more comfortable. If you are claustrophobic, we do not recommend receiving a Lash Lift since you are required to keep your eyes closed for a minimum of 45 minutes.
IS IT CUSTOMARY TO ADD GRATUITY TO MY SERVICE?
The industry standard for gratuity starts at 20% but the amount you choose to leave is at your discretion.
WHAT ARE THE CONTRAINDICATIONS?
Cysts on the eyelid, chronic inflammation of the eye, chemotherapy (must be at least 6 months after a chemotherapy treatment-consult with you doctor), skin disease, eye infections, Lasik (wait 6 months after receive Lasik, get approval from doctor), watery eyes, hypersensitive eyes, keratitis, alopecia, trichotillomania (habitual pulling out of lashes), any disease that causes shaking, dry eye syndrome, glaucoma (consult doctor), claustrophobia, contact lenses (remove before treatment), allergy to gel eye pads. Please request a patch test if you’re concerned with irritation to the lifting solution. When in doubt, consult your doctor.
